Both Lois and Superman were out. But Henry knew where they lived.

Jon had a lot of friends in the Superhero community. And Henry could get them into the Kents' apartment.

"Look," Henry warned. "We want to be respectful of his privacy, of course, so... try not to go digging too much through his stuff? If I can get a trace on him, I might be able to use the ring to figure out where he went..."

Henry steps through the hall, his ring sweeping like a searchlight across the walls and floor.

Traveling from Odym, the home world of the Blue Lanterns, to Earth was a familiar route and one that Avalon navigated with ease. His heart raced with joy - he had been away from Earth for several weeks but now he was on his way home. The Guardians no longer needed his service at the Battery, and Avalon had been allowed to return to his previous assignment - Earth's sector of space.

Arriving in a flood of blue light, the Lantern came to land in the backyard of what had come to be his home, and headed inside the house. Was anyone home? Avalon didn't know.

"Hey guys?" he called out, from the door.

It hadn't been a fight they were called to for once. No, it was disaster relief. Part of Josh was relieved by the lack of fighting but that was overshadowed by what had happened. Lady Styx had attacked planet Odym. Not with her army but with something called a Necro Bomb, declaring it vengeance for the Blue Lantern Corps playing such a key role in thwarting her last plan. The corps' guardians sent a call out to almost all of their members to return and help recovery efforts after several Blue Lanterns were injured and the Central Power Battery itself was damaged. Naturally when Avalon went, Josh and Henry went along with him. Josh's healing powers came in handy as did the extra muscle Henry's willpower brought.

Then came the bad news. Avalon wouldn't be going back to Earth with them. The Blue Lantern Corps needed many of their members to remain on Odym and Ava was among them. Worst of all, he didn't know when he'd be able to leave Odym again. There was predictably some arguing and debate but eventually it was just Henry and Josh heading back to Earth. The healer was silent the whole time, just holding onto Henry. As soon as they landed back in the house, Josh sighed and reached up to pull his mask off.

"This...really sucks."

Henry grins, lying out on his towel in the sand. His senior year of school is approaching, but for now, the thought of school is far from his mind. Instead, he's enjoying the beach, people-watching those who are playing along the water's edge, playing sports in the sand, and so on. Some of his school friends are around, but many of the beach-goers are strangers, residents of Coast City or some of the neighboring cities, enjoying some of the last bit of summer before school returns. A few people are trying boogie-boarding, though the waves this far north on California's cost aren't strong enough for real surfing.

Henry looks over to Josh, who's closer to their cooler. "Can you hand me a Coke?" he asks. Normally, he'd grab it himself with his ring, but he left his ring locked in the car; he didn't want to give away his secret identity at the beach.

Avalon has never gone to one of these juvenile human dances, and consequently, he has no idea what to expect. No doubt things will be mortifying in some way that makes the Naltorian have to keep himself from hiding in a black hole just to avoid it all.

At least he has had good help - Henry was kind enough to help him find an attractive tux, though Ava would have rather not worn the confining suit. Still, it was a lovely silvery lavendar sort of color, more gray than anything, and looked smashing with his blue eyes and sun-bleached hair.

Standing in the living room, Ava looks up the stairs and calls "Hey guys, our ride is going to be here soon." to himself, he adds "How is it that I am the first one ready?"

It's a hall way in the Jordan household. This one is the one leading to the garage. If anyone is paying attention there are three people in there. But the conversation that is easily overheard might make that a little hard.

"Just jam it in there. It'll hold." The voice is gruff yet obviously belongs to a girl. Sher if anyone knows her who is listening in.

"No really. Just jam that sucker in there guys. I'm sure this'll work out just fine."

It wasn't easy to get Sher into school with the guys. Mostly because she had been nervous about being around civilians. She knew she could be dangerous if provoked. The first few days weren't so bad and she was starting to settle in.

Then she had been confused by a word and asked someone what it meant in her English class that she didn't share with the others. She found out what that not nice word meant in reference to her.

So one of the very nice and peppy girls quickly ran to get Josh. Because they thought Sher kicking a Cheerleader's ass was a bad idea.

Even if the Cheerleader deserved it.

( Bendy time a week and some odd days post Enter the Pirate)

It had been tense for everyone when Sher had 'joined' the Jordan household. Some days she and Avalon got along just fine. A few others times she was obviously thrown of guard and tense because of that.

Today she was avoiding him like the plague. But she wanted to get some training in anyways. So there she was pacing around before the thought struck her that Josh was a fighter. So he would have Sher seeking him out then shifting her weight from one foot to the other.

"Um. Hey." She shifts again while watching him.

Josh normally hated space. Even going into orbit freaked him out a bit. But thankfully the Watchtower had enough life on it that he could remain on board comfortably even if it was just plants and small animals. After school, he's taken a detour up to the Watchtower to take care of something that had been bothering him.

He was fixing up the Infirmary. Things were being rearranged, some labels reprinted so they could be read more easily, and the computer interface being re-learned. Lifeforce had decided he was the team doctor after all and wanted to make sure the infirmary was in top form in the event they needed it. And as he tends to when he's not paying attention to his senses and thinks he's more alone than he actually is, the masked healer's singing.

"And so you fell into the danger and you're all alone tonight. Well you're surrounded by the hooded type and you just don't care for the sight. We will come running to your side, we will protect you from your fright. All of us are on your side! We'll take then...we'll take them down! Fight!....Fight!...Fight!...Fight!"

And Josh is pretty good at singing.

Since the explosion of healing light at the end of the battle with Styx and her zombie horde, Josh has been out cold. He was breathing again thanks to Avalon but he wasn't waking up. There was nothing wrong with him, he just needed a lot of rest after the fight and whatever that explosion was. He's been in the Watchtower Medical Bay since then, sleeping peacefully.

A few hours later, he doesn't show signs of stirring. Rather suddenly, his eyes snap open and he sits up. A little panicked, he looks around quickly and starts to calm when he sees where he is.

"Okay...I have no idea how I got here..."

A green streak tears through space, faster than light. It moves between stars, between solar systems, homing in on Earth.

Henry Jordan pushes his ring as hard as he can, pushing every bit of will into going faster -- faster. He needs to reach Earth first. His brow is furrowed in focus and concentration, and his face has a sheen of sweat from the exertion. Lifeforce, held close, can focus on healing his injuries -- and there are many. Henry puts his all into arriving on Earth. He needs to give them warning.

He slows when they come in to the solar system, but still travels faster than light until he's close to Earth, at which point he slows down a bit more -- barely. And then there -- the YJLA satellite. He really hopes someone's there. He heads towards the control room, slowing down only as much as he needs to.

He collides with the tower at near-sonic speeds, phasing through the wall to enter harmlessly, then comes in for a crash landing along the floor of the control room. He and Lifeforce slide across the floor for fifteen feet, though Henry stops them from hitting the next wall.

"We've got problems incoming!" he yells before he even gets to his feet or looks around to see if anyone's there to hear him.
