Avalon has never gone to one of these juvenile human dances, and consequently, he has no idea what to expect. No doubt things will be mortifying in some way that makes the Naltorian have to keep himself from hiding in a black hole just to avoid it all.
At least he has had good help - Henry was kind enough to help him find an attractive tux, though Ava would have rather not worn the confining suit. Still, it was a lovely silvery lavendar sort of color, more gray than anything, and looked smashing with his blue eyes and sun-bleached hair.
Standing in the living room, Ava looks up the stairs and calls "Hey guys, our ride is going to be here soon." to himself, he adds "How is it that I am the first one ready?"

It plays into both relationship rituals and to feed into the need of certain teenagers, stereotypically among females, for a little formal finery now and again. All the more prominent since America doesn't have as many debutante balls anymore."
